ROOSEVELT FOREST ULTRAS, THE GATEWAY TO CONNECTICUT ULTRAS
Deep in the heart of Roosevelt Forest, where the trails whisper secrets and the trees stand as silent sentinels, an endurance challenge like no other awaits. Some say the forest was forgotten—but for those who run here, it’s anything but. The Forgotten Forest 9-Hour Ultra isn’t just about logging miles—it’s about testing your limits, supporting your fellow runners, and soaking in the beauty of the trails.
The event runs from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM on a well-marked single and double-track loop with approximately 131 feet of elevation gain per lap.
All racers, runners, joggers, hikers, and walkers are welcome to participate, this is an excellent race for those looking to achieve a new personal best, tackle a 50k or more, or as a training run for a longer run later in the season.
A well-marked single and double-track 2.2 mile loop with 131 feet of elevation gain per loop.
Bib & SWAG Pickup: Begins at 7:15 AM at the pavilion.
Parking: Please do not enter the forest parking lot before 6:45 AM to allow for final setup. Park efficiently, as space is limited. Larger vehicles should use the side lot (no RVs).
Aid Station: The pavilion is the only aid station. The loop is 2.2 miles, so plan accordingly. Small tables, chairs, and canopies are allowed in the picnic area near the pavilion. Dogs are permitted as spectators, but must be kept on leash.
Restrooms: Porta potties are conveniently located nearby.
GPS Address: 700 Peters Lane, Stratford, CT.
This Ultra is limited to 50 Participants, meaning you are not one of 200 to 400 participants, so this is “your personal race for your personal best”.
To maintain the competitive integrity of the event, registration is final. Please understand that there are absolutely no refunds, bib transfers or race deferrals for any reason.
CDC/State/Town requirements are strictly applied.
You must be at least 18 years old or have a Parental/Guardian signed waiver.
Entry fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, starting well in advance of the race date--including course preparation, race supplies, permits, and administration. Additionally, diversified charities receive some support from each of the Roosevelt Forest Ultras.
Excellent ultra hydration and food options are provided for runners. While we do our best to accommodate all diets, please bring your own fueling options if you have specific needs.
Lots of exciting swag is included in your race entry, including non-alcoholic beer from our sponsor Athletic Brewing. Additional swag is available for purchase at the race.
Race t-shirts are available for purchase when registering, and a limited quantity will be available for purchase on race day (sizes not guaranteed).
Podium awards are for most miles achieved by the end of the race (5:30 pm) from 1st place-3rd place for both female and male winners.
Pacers are allowed after four hours of racing. They must sign a waiver and receive a wristband at the pavilion before pacing. There is no charge for pacers in this race.
Congratulations! Feel free to stick around and cheer on other runners. The fireplace in the pavilion will be roaring, so grab a snack, open a crisp Athletic beer and revel in your accomplishment with other runners, and supporters.
