A "Bucket List" Buckle Race!

You deserve a great "hometown" 100 miler with incredible buckles!

Welcome to the gateway of New England trail running. The 30 Hour/100 mile EPIC event start time Saturday at 8:30 am and run to Sunday ending at 2:30 pm or 30 Hours. Run, Power-Hike/Walk or Crawl.  Do as many miles as you wish.

The course will consist an irregular loop of 2.3 miles each loop with a maximum elevation gain of 201 feet. The typical New England course will have of roots, rocks and rolling hills. The course markings will consist of yellow signs with black arrows and smaller tree markings -- no getting lost. It is truly the only "real" trail buckle race in CT. Put this "doable" Forbidden 30 hour/100 mile race on you "bucket list" for Connecticut.  Run well and you will "Buckle"!

(note: this is the last running of the Forbidden Forest, so buckle-up or go home).

Bibs and Packet Pickup

  • Roosevelt Forest is located at GPS address of 700 Peters Lane, Stratford, CT
  • There will be a bib/swag pickup on the 10th between 2 and 5 pm, also you can set up your personal area if you wish, however the race is not responsible for theft or damage even with someone on duty all of Friday night.. At 6:30am on  Saturday the  October11th, you can set up a personal area in the R&R lot across from the pavilion, too.
  • Bib/Swag pick up will start on Saturday the 11th in the pavilion at 7am; race start 8:30am.
  • Park "comfortably" close since the parking lot is small,  also larger vehicles to the side lot, please (no RV's). NO overnight camping allowed per Town Ordinance/Friday night) or use your vehicle with close access, including  porta-johns, as you loop through the day and night.
  • Excellent ultra hydration and foods, PB&J slider and pizza including 5 different pizza choices about noon, like pickle pizza, supper (ziti, plus) about 5pm and breakfast sandwiches about 8:30 am, also sponsoring Athletic Brewing Company!
  • The pavilion is the one and only aid station
  • A "chip" bib will register each and every lap

Awards and Medallions and BUCKLES

There will be an award for first to fifth overall with the (fastest) most amount of miles in the 30 hours. An incredible buckle will be given at no additional charge to all those achieving 100 miles in the 30 hours; a buckle is assigned by race time achievement of 100 miles.  re: 100 miles = 1 buckle, 125 miles = 2 buckles, 150 miles = 3 buckles. Forst come, first served with first choice(s).

Note: As you achieve 100 miles you receive your  buckle at that point, but that does not win the race; it is most miles achieved in 30 hours. In typical New England fashion the course has roots and rocks  and  one larger hill (nicknamed: "OMG"), that is very doable. The medallions, buckles and swag and awards are exceptional and worth the trip.

Crew and Pacers

One Pacer is allowed per runner:

  • Cost of $50 for 12 hours (start time 2:30 am, Sunday or when 60 miles achieved)
  • $25 for 6 Hours (8:30 am to race-end 2:30 pm)
  • Multiple pacer runners can change off, however only ONE Pacer at a time (one charge fits all)
