Time to Buckle: Red, White or Blue!

The course will consist an irregular loop of  2.78 miles each loop with a maximum elevation gain of 200 ft. The typical New England course  will have of roots, rocks and rolling hills. The 33 Hour/100 mile EPIC event will start on  Saturday with a start time of 8:30 am and run through Sunday, ending at 5:30 pm or 33 Hours. 


The course will consist an irregular loop of  2.78 miles each loop with a maximum elevation gain of 200 feet. The typical New England course will have of roots, rocks and rolling hills. Run, Power-Hike/Walk or Crawl: 26.2M, 50K, 50M, 100K, 100 MILES or more, it's up to you. The course markings will consist of yellow signs with black arrows and smaller tree markings; no getting lost. The loop is 2.78 miles and hydration, etc. is needed after every 2 loops. Please, understand  trail running experience is mandatory for safety, so trail training is warranted. Put this doable Centurion 33 hour/100 miler race and buckle, on your "bucket list" for Connecticut.  Train safe, train well !

Bibs/Packet Pickup

  • Roosevelt Forest is located at GPS address of 700 Peters Lane, Stratford, CT
  • Packet pickup between 3 pm and 6 pm, at the Forest Pavilion on Friday or early on Saturday morning (6:45 am).
  •  At either time you can choose a personal aid station to be used during the race or a "rest and recuperation station" in an adjacent field. 
  • NO overnight camping allowed per Town Ordinance/Friday night or use your vehicle with close access, including  porta-johns, as you loop through the day and night.
  • Park "comfortably" close since the parking lot is small,  also larger vehicles to the side lot, please (no RV's). 
  • The pavilion is the one and only aid station. 
  • Excellent ultra hydration and foods, including 5 different pizza choices about noon, like pickle pizza, supper (ziti, plus) about 5pm and breakfast sandwiches about 8:30 am
  • The medallions, buckles and swag and awards are exceptional and worth the trip. 
  • A "chip" bib will register each and every lap. 

Awards and Medallions

There will be an award for first to fifth overall with the most amount of miles in the 33 hours. An incredible buckle will be given at no additional charge to all those achieving 100 miles in the 33 hours; a buckle is assigned by race time achievement of 100 miles. So, train well and you will "Buckle"!  A buckle would make an EPIC event, even better! Note:  The first to achieve 100 miles receives the buckle at that point, but that does not win the race; it is most miles achieved in 33 hours. On average, the course has roots and rocky terrain with one larger  hill, that is very doable, so 2.78 miles times 36 loops gets you that fantastic buckle.  


There will be 3 Buckles: 

  • Red for 100 miles within 24 hours 
  • White within 30 hours 
  • Blue within 33 hours 
  • You are given these as you achieve your 100 miles, however as stated, this does not win the race 
  • The top 5 Runners with most miles in 33 hours will podium! 


Crews and Pacers

One Pacer is allowed per runner:

  • Cost of $50 for 12 hours (start time 5:30 am, Sunday)  
  • $25 for 6 Hours (8:30 am to race-end 11:30 am) 
  • Multiple pacer runners can change off, however only one Pacer at a time (one charge fits all); 
  • They must register and sign the waiver, 
  • Registered pacers have access to hydration, food and insurance coverage, etc., 
  • Pay at pavilion in hours just before 12 hours or 6 hours knowing that the goal is within reach
  • Pacers must check-in for a Pacer wristband at the pavilion.  
  • Anyone using an unauthorized Pacer WILL BE DISQUALIFIED from the race!

Charities

Numerous diversified charities receive some support from each of the Roosevelt Forest Ultras: Forest Commission, Veterans Museum, and Library, etc. .

Final Notes

  • To maintain the competitive integrity of the event, registration is FINAL understanding that there are absolutely no refunds, bib transfers or race deferrals for any reason. 
  • CDC/State/Town requirements are strictly applied. You must be at least 18 years old or have a Parental/Guardian signed waiver. 
  • NO overnight camping allowed per Town Ordinance/Friday night, please (no RV's). 
  • This is limited to 50 participants meaning you are not one of 200 to 400 participants, so this is “your personal race for your personal best”.
